**Summary**The Cooking Tech 1 position performs the cooking of various meat products under the supervision and direction of the Pit Supervisor.**Essential Functions**Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1. Performs the loading of raw meat product onto racks located inside the pits2. Performs the unloading of cooked meat product out of the pits and onto racks3. Identifies products and distinguishes between species4. Performs the cleaning/washing down of a pit5. Assembles and disassembles the racks inside the pits6. Performs daily inspection of the bushings, pins and washers on the racks7. Transports racks full of meat from pits to the scale, and then to the chill cell8. Must be able to stand between 2 - 3 hours at a time9. Must be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net, use of gloves, use of a company approved frock and rubber boots, no jewelry, no nail polish or artificial nails, no shorts, no open-toed shoes, no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on clothing, no chewing gum, candy or tobacco.**Supervisory Responsibility**This position has no supervisory responsibilities.**Other Duties**Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. The employee is also exposed to high levels of smoke produced by the burning wood.
