The Fixture Shop Associate is responsible for creating fixtures based on custom designs. This position reports to the Fixture Shop Supervisor. This role is focused on building high quality fixtures to support our growing stores. With some travel, this role will occasionally complete onsite repairs or modifications.Duties and Responsibilities Support the “Cavender's Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and ValuesConstruct and assemble fixtures, ensuring all pieces fit the dimensions specified by drawingsAccurately prepare and cut raw materials using provided cut listsAdhere to all Fixture Shop procedures to create fixtures safely and accuratelyInspect all wood and raw materials before fabrication to ensure high quality finished goodsOperate shop machinery safely and efficiently, in a manner consistent with Fixture Shop policiesWhen required, finish fixtures utilizing stain, paint, and clear coatOther duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications and Requirements 5-7 years experience in carpentry or equivalentAbility to read blueprintsAbility to use measurement tools such as: Tape Measure, Speed Square, Level, etc.Ability to operate:Nail Guns (finish, brad)Saws (miter, table)Job requires employee to remain on his or her feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time without being able to leave the work areaJob requires that the employee regularly pick up objects up to 50 lbsJob regularly requires employee to reach for objectsJob regularly requires employee to bend forward by bending at the waist or by bending the legs and spineAbility to comprehend basic instructionsAbility to understand the meanings of words and effectively respondBased in Tyler, TX at our Fixture ShopAbility to travel up to 5% of the timeAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screenCavender's is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
