The IT Specialist serves as a technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. The IT specialist plans and carries out exciting, complex assignments and develops new methods and approaches in a wide variety of IT specialties. They evaluate new and enhanced approaches to deliver IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data; and define technical requirements. The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving the efficiency of the work of the staff through the use of technology.Duties & Responsibilities Assist users with account setup, password resets and basic system configurationsProvide first-level technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issuesAssist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software componentsPerform routine checks and updates on systems to ensure optimal performanceIdentify and resolve technical issues promptly, escalating problems when necessaryCollaborate with senior IT team members to troubleshoot complex problems and find effective solutionsCreate and maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations and issue resolutionsAssist in updating and expanding the IT knowledge baseWork closely with team members on IT projects, providing support and contributing to project successParticipate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and stay current with industry trendsAssist in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breachesFollow security best practices and contribute to a secure IT environmentPerform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications Basic understanding of IT concepts and principlesFamiliarity with hardware components and peripheralsKnowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux)Exposure to troubleshooting common software applicationsGood communication skills and interpersonal skillsStrong problem-solving skills and willingness to learnA desire to help othersMust currently be eligible to work in the United States of AmericaHigh School diploma or GEDPreferred Qualifications Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related fieldExperience with Mobile Device ManagementExperience with Active DirectoryExperience with Networking (DHCP, DNS, etc.)Experience with Windows Server operating systemExperience with Microsoft 365 account administrationPhysical Requirements Requires walking and standing continuously throughout the dayMust be able to lift, carry, push up to 40+ pounds on a regular basisRequires working under stressful conditions to meet deadlines and company needsReports to: IT ManagerJob Type: Full-time, Hourly Non-ExemptTravel: Limited or no travel requiredLocation: Tyler, TexasSchedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00, extended hours as needed#J-18808-Ljbffr
