Job Description Job Description We are seeking a skilled Network & Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and support secure, high-performing network and server environments for our client's customers. This role is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on engineer who has end-to-end experience installing and configuring network and server infrastructure from the ground up —not just maintaining pre-configured systems.The Network & Systems Engineer will work closely with customers, internal teams, and junior technical staff to deliver reliable IT solutions across multiple architectures.Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork & Systems EngineeringDesign, configure, install, and maintain LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi environmentsDeploy and support servers, firewalls, routers, switches, and telecom servicesUnbox, configure, and deploy new network and server equipment into production environmentsPerform firewall, switch, and router configuration from scratchEnsure secure, compliant, and reliable network operationsProjects & ImplementationProvide network engineering and project management for installations, upgrades, and strategic IT initiativesAnalyze customer business and technical needs and implement appropriate network and systems solutionsSupport environments across multiple architectures and technologiesSecurity & User ManagementEstablish and maintain user environments, permissions, and security controlsImplement network security best practices and respond to security issuesMaintain system integrity, availability, and complianceTroubleshooting & SupportTroubleshoot and resolve complex network and server issuesProvide escalation support for advanced technical problemsAct as a technical liaison between customers, internal teams, and vendorsDocumentation & LeadershipDevelop and maintain detailed documentation for network designs, configurations, and processesMentor and support junior technical staffContribute to standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiativesRequired Qualifications2–4 years of hands-on experience installing and supporting computer networking and communications equipmentRecent, practical experience with:Firewalls, switches, and routersServer and network deployments in production environmentsDemonstrated end-to-end setup experience , including hardware installation, configuration, testing, and go-live supportStrong troubleshooting skills for complex network and server issuesPreferred Education & CertificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field (preferred)Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptedMicrosoft and/or Cisco industry certifications (preferred)Technical SkillsRequiredLAN/WAN/Wi-Fi design and configurationFirewall, switch, and router setup and deploymentWindows Server 2008 / 2012Network security and user managementTechnical documentation and process developmentPlus / Nice to HaveVMware and/or Hyper-VVoIP systemsAdvanced wireless networkingCompany Description The Specialized Recruiting Group (part of Express Employment Professionals) office in Tyler, TX offers a tailored approach to professional placement, delivering personalized service that matches the unique needs of both companies and talented candidates.
