Director of Parent Engagement & Advocacy, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

  2026-05-23     CrossOver     Tyler,TX
Description:

  • On-site (multi-city)
  • W2
  • $200K/yr

Families who select Alpha rely on trusted advisors across every dimension of their lives. This is the relationship they haven't yet formed.

You'll become the person they reach out to when uncertainty arises, when something doesn't feel quite right, or when they want to celebrate a moment they know you'll appreciate. You'll develop enough familiarity with each family to sense what they'll need before they voice it—and you'll possess the judgment and composure to address whatever they bring with discretion, empathy, and apparent ease. Over time, your role will extend beyond their child's education. You'll become woven into the way they navigate this phase of their family's journey.

This level of trust isn't built through procedure. It's earned through presence—steady, daily, and unhurried. You'll be there at morning arrivals and afternoon dismissals, at evening gatherings that carry weight, and in the spontaneous conversations that rarely appear on schedules. You'll cultivate a community that families regard as precious, where a sense of belonging arises naturally and referrals follow as a reflection of the experience itself.

Alpha operates outside the traditional school framework. Students complete their core academic work in two hours daily through AI-powered applications, then dedicate the remainder of their time to public speaking, critical thinking, and hands‑on projects. No traditional lectures. No unnecessary assignments. Performance in the top 1% nationally. The families who choose Alpha are investing in a vision they support—but that vision requires ongoing stewardship.

You'll sustain that dialogue with every family, addressing every uncertainty, for the duration of their enrollment. If advocating for an unconventional approach to discerning skeptics feels like a weight, this role won't suit you. If it feels like the most compelling work you could be doing, continue reading.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Take ownership of the relationship with each family on campus—the sustained, evolving connection that makes parents feel recognized, not merely attended to
  • Identify concerns before they surface as conversations, and address them with the discretion and interpersonal skill that preserves confidence
  • Maintain visible presence where families gather: morning arrival (7–9am), afternoon departure (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend programming
  • Create a campus community with authentic depth—programming, rituals, and connection points that make families feel they're part of something they want to protect
  • Develop parent champions naturally, delivering experiences so reliably excellent that referrals emerge as the expected result
  • Sustain the conversation around Alpha's AI-driven model with families managing screen time concerns, skeptical relatives, and occasional uncertainty—not only during enrollment, but across their entire campus experience
  • Recognize when a family doesn't align with the community and manage that reality with the same care you bring to all interactions—preserving the community is integral to serving it
  • Establish the structures and cadences this role demands in a setting where the framework is still taking shape

What You Won't Be Doing

  • Overseeing enrollment—that responsibility belongs to the Admissions Director; your work starts when families commit and grows from that point
  • Operating from behind a desk—your visibility within the community defines the role
  • Maintaining standard 9–5 availability—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening programming are core to the position, not occasional demands
  • Relying on administrative infrastructure, established protocols, or a complete team—you function with significant autonomy and create what's necessary
  • Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role values authentic engagement, not procedural adherence

Director Of Parent Engagement & Advocacy Key Responsibilities

Serve as the central trusted relationship in every family's Alpha experience. Maintain their confidence through challenging moments, build a community where belonging is meaningful, and establish the environment where satisfied families naturally become active advocates.

Basic Requirements

  • Currently live within commuting distance of one of these campuses OR able to relocate within 60 days (preference for candidates with established local ties): Scottsdale, AZ; Denver, CO; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; Park City, UT; Chantilly, VA; or Kirkland, WA
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship
  • 5+ years in a relationship-focused role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—private school admissions, premium hospitality, philanthropic work, or any context where discretion, warmth, and social intelligence were as critical as competence
  • Proven capacity to maintain relationships through challenging situations with sophisticated families and exit with trust strengthened
  • Authentic presence and communication approach that builds confidence quickly with affluent, demanding families—credible in a way that doesn't feel rehearsed
  • Direct familiarity with independent, private, or non-traditional education—through professional experience or as a parent—that provides genuine credibility when families challenge the model
  • Sincere commitment to AI-powered education and the capacity to sustain that conviction authentically across years of parent relationships, not just initial enrollment discussions
  • Flexibility for non-standard hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening programming 2–3x/month, and occasional weekend commitments

Nice-to-have Requirements

Exceptional candidates will possess at least one of the following:

  • Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide an immediate, organic presence on campus
  • Private school or independent school background with demonstrated success in family retention and community cultivation—not merely enrollment metrics
  • Experience managing high-stakes family dynamics where your judgment and discretion were the reason relationships endured
  • A talent for designing experiences—gatherings, moments, settings—where people feel they belong to something they value deeply
  • Prior startup or early-stage environment experience where you built systems from scratch and remained steady amid rapid change
