A Day in the Life and the Impact You Will Make:
As a Senior Health and Safety Consultant at DEKRA, you will help save lives, prevent serious injuries, protect environmental resources, and strengthen client safety cultures by driving organizational change. You will lead initiatives to improve Health, and Safety performance through expert consulting and by developing services that meet evolving client needs. Your role will also focus on identifying safety consulting opportunities, designing solutions, and supporting clients in achieving safety compliance and excellence.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management of DEKRA's proprietary Safety products and service
- Serve as a subject matter expert in an array of Health and Safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices. This may include providing guidance to clients on your:
- Regulatory & Compliance Expertise:
- OSHA General Industry and/or Construction Standards (29 CFR 1910 / 1926)
- Injury & Illness Recordkeeping (29 CFR 1904)
- Emergency Planning & Response (29 CFR 1910.38 / 120)

- FDA and USDA compliance (if applicable to industry)

- Provide exceptional customer service to clients using DEKRA's Safety solutions and in support of DEKRA EHS systems.
- Assess, audit, inspect client systems and operations and offer corrective actions or improvements, where indicated.
- Prepare and deliver reports of findings, recommendations, etc., to client safety and leadership teams
- Advise clients on best practices and tools to support continuous improvement in safety compliance and performance.
- Provide project management, sales support, and contribute to business development initiatives.
- Support marketing efforts through the creation of proposals, brochures, web content, and cost estimates.
- Represent DEKRA at conferences and events through thought leadership and presentations.
- Contribute to the development and application of AI-enabled consulting approaches that enhance EHS program effectiveness, insight generation, and client value.
What You'll Bring: - Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in EHS or a technical discipline.
- Experience: 10+ years of EHS experience in consulting, industry, or regulatory settings with demonstrated program leadership.
- Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is a plus.
- Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated client relationship management skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, across all organizational levels.
- Experience with organizational improvement initiatives (e.g., safety, quality).
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.

Electrical Safety Focus In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, this role may include specialized expertise and activities related to electrical safety risk management:
- Lead client engagements involving high-risk operations, complex equipment, and energized systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in electrical safety, energy control, and hazardous energy risk management.
- Provide guidance on:

- Control of Hazardous Energy (29 CFR 1910.147)
- NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace)

- Programmatic Expertise:
- Electrical Safety Program development, implementation, and auditing
- Arc flash risk assessments and mitigation planning
- Energized work permitting and procedural control
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program development and verification
- Electrical task-based risk analysis
- Electrical contractor qualification and oversight
- Training & Cultural Expertise:
- Electrical safety and LOTO training
- Root Cause Analysis for electrical and energy-related incidents
- Assess, audit, and inspect client operations for electrical, energy, and equipment-related hazards.
- Advise on best practices for electrical safety compliance and performance improvement.
What You'll Bring for Electrical Safety Focus:- NFPA 70E training or equivalent electrical safety credentials.
- Experience supporting electrical safety programs, energized work controls, or arc flash risk mitigation.
- Background in industrial, manufacturing, utility, or construction environments involving electrical hazards.
Physical Considerations:- Ability to work in a variety of client locations/environments, including indoors/outdoors and on uneven terrain.
- Must be able to work variable shifts as required by client operations.
- Ability to travel extensively, including prolonged driving and air travel.
- Capable of lifting 25-50 lbs (luggage).
- Extended periods of computer work and standing.
Travel Considerations: - Domestic travel required, estimated up to 50%.
What You'll Receive for the Value You Bring:Compensation: The base pay for this position is $110,000 annually to $130,000 annually. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
