Description:

Position Summary

The Procurement Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day purchasing operations, supervising procurement activities, and ensuring cost-effective sourcing of goods and services. This role will manage a small procurement team, coordinate supplier relationships, and support the Cluster Procurement Manager in aligning local plant purchasing strategies with global Group standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and guide the local procurement team; assign workloads, review performance, and provide coaching.
  • Purchasing Operations: Ensure timely execution of purchase orders, supplier confirmations, and delivery schedules.
  • Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, contracts, and service levels to achieve cost savings and quality improvements.
  • Strategic Alignment: Work closely with the Cluster Procurement Manager to align local sourcing with global category strategies.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, ethical sourcing standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Data & Reporting: Track KPIs (cost savings, lead times, vendor performance) and provide regular reports to plant leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Quality, and Engineering to anticipate material needs, resolve supply issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks by developing alternate sourcing strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field required, master's preferred.
  • 5+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Experience in manufacturing, HVAC, or industrial production preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, or equivalent).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to influence cross-functionally.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and sustainability requirements is an asset.
