Hughes is a growing company looking to inspire and expand our customers' outdoor living spaces one plant and one project at a time. We are looking for a Live Goods Plant Buyer who wants to join an inclusive team, have opportunities to grow, and work in a dynamic customer-focused environment.
Live Goods Plant Buyer
Duties include (but not limited to):
- Develop, demonstrate and share a solid understanding of trees, shrubs, and other green goods
- Be aware of seasonal trends and know when to ramp up and/or cut off purchasing
- Supervise the Yard team and ensure that plants are being fertilized, watered, and kept trimmed
- Stay up to date on new varieties of plants, and whether they will do well in our hardiness zone
- Work to create meaningful relationships with customers
- Respectfully address and resolve customer concerns
- Know sun requirements for plants, and where they need to be in order to thrive
- Are inquisitive and able to discern customers landscape style needs and goals
- Have flexible availability that meets the needs of retail store schedule requirements, which may include weekends and holidays
- Promote workplace safety
