Accountant Or Accounting Clerk

SNELLING is working with a client as they are bringing two established organizations together under one unified structure. As a result, they are seeking an experienced, customer service focused Accountant or Accounting Clerk to support this transition. This position offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to both the immediate integration efforts and the longer-term development of an accounting and finance department built on consistency, accuracy, and proven best practices. The client prefers to bring this Accountant or Accounting Clerk on through a temp-to-hire process, meaning that SNELLING would work with you through the consideration and interview process and SNELLING would be your employer for a probationary period upon an offer being accepted. Position Overview: The selected candidate will assist with a range of accounting functions while helping ensure a smooth consolidation of financial operations and systems. Early responsibilities will center on combining processes, reconciling data between differing software platforms, and supporting cleanup efforts where needed. Longer-term responsibilities will include participating in process improvements, strengthening internal controls, and contributing to a well-organized, strategically focused finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations with accuracy and consistency
• Manage daily cash activities and support ongoing cash-flow monitoring
• Prepare and post journal entries; assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including research and resolution of discrepancies
• Assist with aligning and integrating accounting functions across two legacy systems
• Participate in documenting and implementing improved workflows and departmental procedures
• Contribute to long-term initiatives designed to enhance efficiency, reporting reliability, and departmental organization

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field preferred
• Strong, stable work history demonstrating reliability and commitment
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, cash management, AP, and AR
• Proven ability to work accurately and calmly in a deadline-driven environment where all of the variables my not be known
• A friendly, personable and "customer" focused outlook is specifically being sought for this role
• Experience with PeopleSoft is helpful but not required
• A process-minded approach, with the ability to adapt to evolving departmental needs
