Job Summary:

Provides advanced facility maintenance repairs to the building structure. Supports all maintenance tasks throughout the distribution, warehouse, and support area environments. Performs maintenance tasks assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs general building repairs (minor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, door, hardware, etc.) as assigned.
  • Assists with building safety compliance and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Documents all building maintenance repairs and the usage of inventory parts.
  • Records repair time confirmation in electronic software.
  • Maintains company provided tools and support equipment.
  • Maintains a safe and clean maintenance work environment.
  • Performs any other maintenance related tasks assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Advanced mechanical skills required.
  • Intermediate electrical skills required.
  • Intermediate welding skills required.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to use knives/box cutters.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery/ hazardous equipment.
  • Ability to operate a fork lift/pallet jack.
  • Ability to use precision hand tools.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations.
  • May be required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.
  • Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
  • High school Diploma or GED and four or more years of related experience required; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Completion of vocational or technical school preferred.
  • Associates Degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
  • OSHA 10 Certification required.
  • Welding training required.
Physical Demands:
  • Continuously required to stand or walk.
  • Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling.
  • Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus.
  • Continuously required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to bend, kneel or squat.
  • Frequently required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing).
  • Occasionally required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop or crawl.
  • Attendance at work is required.
Work Context and Environment:
  • Frequently exposed to outside temperatures and weather.
  • Frequently exposed to industrial odors, fumes and dust.
  • Frequently exposed to heights.
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme cold conditions (non-weather).
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme heat conditions (non-weather).
  • Occasionally exposed to hot surfaces.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet, slippery or damp conditions.

  • Occasionally exposed to confined spaces (ex. air vents, crawl spaces).
  • Work is generally performed in an industrial setting.
