The Role Overview

In your role as a Project Engineer Specialist, you will be an essential support to our project team, focusing on scheduling, documentation, quality assurance, safety, and coordination. You will primarily work on-site, collaborating closely with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and Superintendent to ensure smooth project execution from start to finish. Your exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving approach will be critical in managing project documentation, effective communication, and supporting safety and quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Start-Up: Engage in project handoff and preconstruction meetings to fully understand project goals and requirements, assisting in arranging scheduling and documentation for a seamless beginning.
  • Manage Documentation: Keep precise records of submittals, RFIs, architect instructions, and ensure weekly updates to construction documents are maintained.
  • Facilitate Subcontractor Coordination: Participate in subcontractor coordination and preconstruction meetings, documenting important discussions and decisions to promote team alignment.
  • Support Safety and Quality Standards: Collaborate with the Superintendent to uphold safety protocols and quality standards, proactively addressing and documenting any issues that arise.
  • Provide On-Site Assistance: Aid the Superintendent and project team at the job site, facilitating daily activities to keep the project moving according to schedule.
  • Execute Punch Lists: Work with the project team to successfully complete punch list activities, ensuring all items meet the required project standards.
  • Assist in Closeout Activities: Partner with the Assistant Project Manager to finalize documentation and guarantee a smooth project completion transition.
  • Build Relationships: Foster and maintain professional relationships with Owners, Architects, and Subcontractors to encourage collaboration and trust.
  • Communicate Effectively: Document and disseminate critical communications, including field conversations, telephone discussions, and updates from project meetings.

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to twist, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, and climb stairs and ladders occasionally, as well as walk across uneven terrain. Depth perception is essential for navigating construction hazards and awareness of audible warnings from moving equipment is crucial for safety. The role entails standing for long periods, potentially up to seven hours of an eight-hour shift, and may involve lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
