Overview

The 4Kids4Families Permanency Specialist is responsible for conducting assessments, developing permanency plans, and coordinating efforts to ensure the well-being and stability of children in foster care. They will collaborate with families, foster parents, and stakeholders to achieve permanency for each child.

Responsibilities

  • Meet the individual needs of children in foster care and assist caregivers to provide a stable and loving home.
  • Work in an emotionally demanding environment, including conducting home visits in isolated or high-crime areas and exposure to substandard living conditions.
  • Advocate for children's best interests, collaborating with legal and court systems, ensuring timely court appearances, and providing documentation.
  • Collaborate with social workers, therapists, educators, and healthcare professionals for comprehensive support.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support services to maintain placement stability.
  • Maintain detailed case records in compliance with policies and legal requirements.
  • Provide 24-hour on-call support and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Provide training on processes, skills, and practices for preparing children and families for adoption.
  • Discuss issues of separation and loss with children, families, and caregivers.
  • Travel and attend visits and meetings after 5PM; work irregular hours and on a rotating on-call basis.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity.
  • Perform all duties within regulatory and agency standards.
  • May require driving, being insurable, and completing vehicle training.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field, with 1-2 years of experience. Experience in child welfare, foster care, or adoption services is a plus. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
