Procurement Expeditor (Part-time)

General Summary of the Position

Responsible for assisting internal and external customers to effectively control total cost, delivery, and quality with material vendors; monitor and evaluate supplier performance. Monitor confirmation and delivery of purchase orders and expedite orders as necessary to support day-to-day operations, speculative plants, custom projects and plants, and any client-related projects for affiliated Jasper Ventures, Inc. companies. This position requires working collaboratively with the Project team, Procurement, Material Control, Vendors, the Fabrication Shop, vendors, and clients to ensure equipment and materials arrive at the intended times for work to commence on schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):

  • Monitors and maintains order due dates to ensure validity, negotiates order delivery dates as needed
  • Contacts supplier by email or phone to verify shipment of goods on specified date and expedite parts to support business needs
  • Acts on OS&D reports to expedite materials as required.
  • May arrange for distribution of materials upon arrival.
  • Contact suppliers to purchase or requisition materials as required.
  • Completes reports of purchasing activities such as past due reports and material flow reports.
  • Communicates with customers daily to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Verifies order delivery and updates records.
  • Work closely with operations to understand their needs and provide materials on a timely basis.
  • Completes various standard purchasing responsibilities as required.
  • Performs other work duties as assigned Customer Focus/Continuous Improvement.
  • Actively participates in warehouse and operations meetings to understand requirements, address and help resolve inventory or procurement issues.
  • Engages in a high degree of collaboration and communication with the supply chain, management, warehouses, suppliers and other functional areas.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Willingness and ability to follow instruction from various departments and ability to follow those instructions with minimal oversight.

  • Must be organized to maintain procurement records.
  • Intermediate computer skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required.
  • Previous experience in Sage is a plus.
Education, Training and Experience
  • Three or more years of experience in procurement function, preferably in the gas processing industry.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree or three or more years of equivalent work experience.
Work Context
  • Regularly works in the Corporate Office in Whitehouse but will be required to visit fabrication and assembly shop, as well as client locations. At the shop and in the field, must be able to work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles.
  • This position is currently part-time but may transition to full-time in the future based on the needs of the business.
