UT Health East Texas

comprises 9 hospitals, over 90 clinics, the Olympic Plaza Tower, 13 regional rehabilitation facilities, two emergency centers, regional home health services covering 41 counties, an EMS fleet of over 65 ambulances and four helicopters, and a seven-trauma center care network, including the region's only Level 1 trauma facility. In 2024, six Urgent Care clinics were added. Our team includes nearly 400 providers and over 7,000 staff members.

UT Health Tyler

is the flagship hospital with 432 licensed beds, specializing in advanced acute care. It includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma, a stroke center, over 500 physicians, and various subspecialties.

We invite you to join our leadership team at UT Health Tyler Main Campus as a Chief Financial Officer.

Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees the financial administration of the facility, including general accounting, data processing, materials management, information systems, and financial reporting. The CFO ensures adequate internal controls to safeguard assets and that accounting systems produce accurate, timely reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and implementing initiatives to build and grow the facility.
• Analyze financial data to support future endeavors.
• Consult with Regional CFO and Corporate office regarding financial affairs and goals.
• Develop operating policies and procedures.
• Review product line analysis and collaborate with the CEO and Regional CFO.
• Prepare financial and management reports, and oversee the annual operating and capital budgets.
• Coordinate department functions, evaluate performance, and manage personnel relations.
• Monitor expenses for efficiencies and cost reductions.
• Prepare projections to inform leadership of future performance.
• Maintain a healthy revenue cycle for cash flow.
• Negotiate managed care contracts with region and joint venture partners.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance or related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Experience as a hospital CFO; experience in an integrated health system preferred.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (The Joint Commission, OSHA, state, and federal).
