Pride Health is seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist for a travel assignment at a leading healthcare facility in Tyler, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic cytology experience with both non-GYN and normal GYN screenings and be proficient in high complexity testing in an acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and stain microscopic slides from blood, tissue scrapings, and body fluids.
• Examine cells to detect cancer, pre-malignant conditions, and other abnormalities.
• Classify and document findings and report significant abnormalities to a pathologist.
• Perform and troubleshoot manual and automated stains using ThinPrep and other cytology equipment.
• Assist with fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures.
• Ensure timely and accurate entry of patient and specimen information into the LIS system.
• Conduct quality control and preventive maintenance in compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
• Participate in continuing education and training of new staff.
• Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and hazardous material protocols.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in science or equivalent (Required)
• Certification:
• Cytotechnologist (ASCP) or eligible
• Annual membership with a recognized certification agency (Required)
• Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of cytology experience (Required)
• Experience with non-GYN and routine GYN screenings (Required)
• Experience in a high-complexity acute care hospital setting (Preferred)

Additional Information:

• Location: Tyler, TX 75701
• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM/ 40 hours/week.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Pay Rate: $55 - $60/hour
