Industrial Maintenance Technician

Description:

Join our dynamic team as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, where you'll be a vital part of our commitment to continuous improvement. In this role, you will utilize your troubleshooting skills and preventative maintenance strategies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on various industrial equipment, including conveying systems and major machine centers like debarkers and gang saws.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to uphold the standard of 'Just in Time' maintenance.
  • Utilize hoists, dollies, and other equipment to move machinery safely.
  • Adjust tension and positions of components with hand tools and measuring instruments to achieve specified clearances.
  • Align machinery using hoists, jacks, and precision tools.
  • Assemble and install equipment utilizing both hand and power tools.
  • Drill and lay out mounting holes with measuring instruments and a power drill.
  • Replace defective parts and ensure proper alignment of moving parts.
  • Level bedplates and establish centerlines with straightedges and levels.
  • Dismantle machines using various tools for maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to work safely under pressure.
  • Must complete a pre-employment drug screening, physical, and background check.
  • Willingness to travel and participate in the West Fraser Qualified Millwright training program.
  • Strong commitment to safety compliance.
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings and instructions.
  • Must pass the trade qualifications test.
  • Availability to work any shift, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Proficient in navigating tablets for documenting maintenance activities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cutting torches (Oxygen/Acetylene).
  • Welding experience (GMAW and SMAW).
  • Previous experience as a Millwright.
