Accountabilities
- Collaborate with the plant operation team, performing daily maintenance and repair tasks
- Conduct sampling and laboratory testing for regulatory compliance, ensuring our operations meet the highest standards
- Train fellow Operators in technical functions and operations, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Take the lead in implementing improvements based on research and recommendations
- Provide outstanding customer service by maintaining open communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Keep the team informed of daily operations, important developments, and work activities
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring the delivery of services with the utmost professionalism
- Execute routine and emergency operational, maintenance, construction, and repair functions
- Conduct daily inspections of wastewater treatment facilities and related equipment
- Record various equipment and process readings, making adjustments for system flow and stability
- Detect and communicate mechanical or process deficiencies to the supervisor
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in plumbing, well operation, or water/wastewater treatment
- TCEQ Class D Operator License in specific area of concentration; i.e. Wastewater or Basic Water Operations, or a Class I Collections or ability to acquire within one year from date of hire
- Valid drivers license and may require a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) with appropriate classification and endorsements
- Ability to read maps, manuals, work orders, and blueprints
- Proficient in general math calculations and common water-related computations
- Flexibility to work swing or graveyard shifts
